the importance of treating animals humanely, and the joy in having animal friends.
We provide unbiased information on subjects such as animal abuse, puppy mills, the pet food
industry, and other subjects not known by the general public in our
Adults Only page.
Our goal is to alleviate companion animals suffering abandonment because of
irresponsibility and ignorance due to a lack of understanding from humans of the needs of animals.
How do we hope to achieve this? We believe in practicing what we preach. Our website is dedicated
to the animals that share our lives, and the lessons they have taught us. It took Beau, found starving
in the street, two years to understand that he could trust us not to beat him. Kiwi arrived in extremis
from the local animal shelter 15 years ago.
Our most recent arrival, Gigi the Poodle, was surrendered by her owner at the age of 11 years to
a rescue group overwhelmed with senior dogs with no chance of survival in a shelter.
All of these animals have a painful story to tell about the subjects we address: abuse and
abandonment, overpopulation in shelters, owners refusing to accept lifetime responsibility, puppy
mills exploitation of certain breeds for profit without any concern of animal well-being.
Herself a survivor of an abusive breeder, Bibi required a lot of love and kindness to regain
her tremendous joy of living (see About Bibi).
With a touch of humor, c.starkey gives a dog's perspective through a series of children's books are
inspired by Bibi's adventures.
Though serious in content and intent, Bibi's Playhouse.com also throws in a measure of fun by featuring
interesting products and fashion for your pets. Last but not least, we feature dogs and cats looking for homes.
